Creating a Central Communications Hub
A key part of this project was the installation of a new 12RU wall-mounted communications cabinet within the garage. Positioned adjacent to the existing study where the NBN service entered the property, this location provided a practical and secure central point for all networking equipment.
The new communications rack was designed to house and protect the home's networking infrastructure while allowing easy access for future maintenance and expansion. Internal shelving, power distribution and ventilation were incorporated to ensure all equipment could operate efficiently and safely.
By centralising the home's communications infrastructure, the property is now well-positioned for future additions including CCTV systems, intercoms, smart home integration and additional network-connected devices.
Structured Cat6 Cabling Throughout the Property
To support the new network design, Cable & Connect installed Category 6 structured cabling throughout the home.
All cabling was professionally run back to the communications rack and completed with appropriate patching, labelling and testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Seamless Wi-Fi Coverage with UniFi U7 Pro Access Points
One of the primary objectives of the project was to eliminate Wi-Fi dead spots and provide consistent wireless coverage throughout the property.
To achieve this, Cable & Connect supplied and installed three Ubiquiti UniFi U7 Pro in-ceiling wireless access points strategically positioned across both levels of the home.
The downstairs access point was centrally located to provide excellent coverage to the kitchen and living areas, while two additional access points were installed upstairs to create balanced wireless coverage throughout the upper level.
The result is a seamless wireless experience that allows devices to transition between access points without interruption, improving performance, reliability and user experience.
Outdoor Wi-Fi Coverage for the Entertaining Area and Pool
In addition to improving indoor wireless performance, the client wanted strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout the outdoor entertaining spaces.
To achieve this, Cable & Connect installed a UniFi U7 Pro Outdoor access point mounted externally to provide coverage to the rear entertaining area, pool zone and surrounding outdoor spaces.
This solution delivers reliable connectivity for outdoor entertainment, smart devices and future technology requirements while extending network coverage beyond the main residence.
Enterprise-Grade Networking Equipment
The communications rack houses a Ubiquiti UniFi Cloud Gateway Ultra, which acts as the primary router, gateway and network controller for the property.
A UniFi Switch Ultra 210W was also installed to provide network connectivity and Power over Ethernet (PoE) to the wireless access points and future network devices.
This combination provides enterprise-grade network management and performance while maintaining flexibility for future expansion.
Testing, Commissioning & Future Expansion
Following installation, all cabling and networking equipment underwent comprehensive testing and commissioning.
This included verification of internet connectivity, wireless performance, device communication and overall system operation to ensure the network was functioning as designed.
The completed installation provides the homeowner with a reliable, scalable and professionally managed network capable of supporting future technologies as their needs evolve.
