Emergency Main Switch Repair in Brunswick – Director On Site Before Sunrise
Emergency Electrical Call-Out in Brunswick: Main Switch Tripping Resolved Fast
When the lights go out at 4am, we show up—tools in hand
Some jobs can wait until morning.
This wasn’t one of them.
At 4am, we were called to Impact Neighbourhoods in Brunswick after reports of a main switchboard (MSB) issue causing power to trip unexpectedly. With essential systems affected and the risk of further disruption, our director Dan was on site before the sun came up to personally take charge.
After inspecting the setup, we discovered the SCCD was set to 240A, but the newly installed main switch was incorrectly rated at 220A—a mismatch that can cause ongoing tripping issues and potential hazards. Given the 240mm cable is rated to approx. 560A, an urgent upgrade was required.
Our team got to work and completed the following on-site:
Supplied and installed a 400A variable 3-phase main switch
Installed 3x Shelly CT monitoring kits
Supplied a 3-phase 10A breaker and 12-pole enclosure
Installed a client-supplied Shelly monitoring system
Everything was tested and verified before the day officially began. The switchboard is now operating safely, and the client has full monitoring visibility thanks to the Shelly CT system.
At Cable & Connect, we pride ourselves on fast responses, real leadership, and hands-on expertise—even when it’s freezing cold and pitch black outside.
Whether it’s a late-night call-out or a planned upgrade, we’ve got your power covered.
