How We Transformed a Macleod Home with Smarter Wi-Fi, Lighting, and Power Solutions

When our Macleod client reached out, they were ready to bring their home tech up to speed. Between slow Wi-Fi, dated lighting, and limited power access, it was time for an upgrade that worked smarter — not harder.

We started by relocating their NBN and network setup from the bedroom to a neat hallway cupboard, creating a cleaner look and better access for their equipment. To give their connection the boost it needed, we installed a Ubiquiti U6-LR wireless access point in the roof space and ran Cat6 cabling from the router to the WAP — instantly improving Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire home.

Next up: the lighting. The study got a total refresh with two new 9W LED downlights on a rotary dimmer, plus convenient USB A/C power points under the desk and near the printer. In the bedroom, we swapped out the old fitting for a bright new 18W LED oyster light, and replaced a failing hallway downlight with a new LED fitting to keep everything looking sharp.

To finish, we added new power points across three rooms — plus one in the undercover carport area for easy outdoor power access.

The result? A smart, connected, and well-lit home that’s ready for everyday life — faster Wi-Fi, better lighting, and plenty of power where it’s needed most.
