Youth Hub IT & Data Fit-Out for YSAS Rosebud
Supporting a Future-Ready Youth Services Facility
Cable & Connect recently completed a comprehensive IT and data communications fit-out for the YSAS Rosebud Youth Hub, supporting their move into a new, purpose-built facility designed to better serve young people in the local community.
This project focused on delivering a reliable, compliant, and future-ready communications environment to support day-to-day operations, collaboration, and service delivery.
Structured Data Cabling & Workstation Setup
To support staff and consultation spaces, our team installed structured Category 6 data cabling throughout the facility in line with current Australian standards.
Works included preparing and cabling workstations for dual-screen setups, with infrastructure installed in advance to allow for additional monitors to be added in January. Each workstation was neatly cable-managed, tested, and commissioned to ensure reliable performance and a clean finish.
Allowance was made for future workstations, giving YSAS flexibility as the hub continues to grow.
Reliable Wireless Coverage Across the Site
To ensure consistent connectivity throughout the tenancy, we supplied and installed five Ubiquiti wireless access points, positioned within ceiling spaces for optimal coverage.
All access points were connected via Cat6 cabling back to the network, configured, tested, and commissioned to provide even, reliable wireless coverage across offices, consultation rooms, and shared areas.
Video Conferencing Suite Upgrade
As part of the fit-out, we carried out modifications to the existing video conferencing suite to meet updated YSAS requirements.
This included removing outdated equipment, installing a new Jabra Speak2 omni-directional microphone, supplying power for existing camera systems, and fully configuring and testing the upgraded setup to ensure clear, reliable video conferencing for meetings and consultations.
Communications Rack & IT Relocation Works
To support the expanded network infrastructure, we installed a new 18RU communications rack in the printer room. This allowed new data and wireless cabling to be terminated locally, reducing long cable runs back to the main tenancy rack and improving ongoing accessibility for maintenance.
We also relocated existing IT equipment from the previous Rosebud site, including monitors, switches, video conferencing equipment, and televisions. All equipment was carefully dismantled, transported, reinstalled, and tested to confirm full functionality at the new location.

This project was all about creating a stable, well-organised IT and communications setup that allows the YSAS team to focus on what matters most – supporting young people in the community.
