Cable & Connect recently completed an electrical installation within a Melbourne basement car park involving a new power outlet and individual electricity meter.

Installing a Dedicated kWh Meter

A DIN-rail single-phase kWh meter was installed adjacent to the power outlet within its own suitable enclosure.

The electrical supply was configured so electricity feeding the nominated outlet passes through the meter first.

This means the meter can record the energy consumed through that supply, providing a straightforward reference for monitoring usage.

The installation included the required metering wiring, terminations and identification, together with alterations to the existing circuit.

New Basement Power Outlet

A new double power point was also installed within the basement car park.

New cabling was run using conduit and suitable fittings to provide a neat, protected installation appropriate to the environment.

Once completed, our technicians tested the altered circuit, confirmed correct polarity and earthing and verified operation of both the outlet and kWh meter.
