Security Lighting Installation for a Home in Research
A brighter, safer front entrance—and the beginning of a client relationship that continued through a house move.
For Day 4 of our tenth anniversary countdown, we’re revisiting a security lighting project at a home in Research.
The front entrance was dark after sunset, making it difficult to see where you were walking. We installed sensors and floodlights to improve visibility and make arriving home a little easier.
It was our first job for this client. Since then, there have been many more—including recent work at his new home.
Lighting up a dark entrance
The purpose of this project was straightforward: bring useful light to an entrance that needed it.
We installed floodlights and sensors around the front of the property, helping illuminate the approach to the home. The photos show fittings mounted on the brick exterior, including around the garage and entrance.
With sensor-controlled lighting, the homeowner could approach the property without having to find a light switch in the dark. The improved visibility helped make the entrance safer and more welcoming after sunset.
A practical improvement to everyday life
Some projects stand out because of their size or complexity. This one stands out because it addressed an everyday concern.
Being able to see the approach to your front door matters when you’re arriving home, carrying shopping or welcoming visitors in the evening. For this Research homeowner, the lighting upgrade made a previously dark area easier to navigate.
The installation combined floodlights for coverage with sensors for convenient operation—a practical change to how the entrance could be used after dark.
The first of many jobs
Our connection with this client didn’t end when the lights were installed.
Over the years, he’s continued to call Cable & Connect for further work. When he recently moved house, we were pleased to help again, completing more work at his new property.
That ongoing relationship is a big part of why we chose this project for our anniversary series. Looking back over a decade means remembering the people behind the jobs, as well as the installations themselves.
